Omron Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor HEM-6161

The Omron HEM-6161 wrist blood pressure monitor is designed to be worn on the wrist and uses the oscillometric method of blood pressure measurement. As the cuff inflates, the monitor detects the pressure pulsations of the artery underneath, known as oscillometric pulses, and displays a digital reading of blood pressure using an electronic pressure sensor.

In addition to measuring blood pressure, the monitor also has an Irregular Heartbeat Detection feature, which identifies irregular heartbeats that deviate by more than 25% from the average heartbeat rhythm detected during the measurement. If an irregular rhythm is detected more than twice during the measurement, the irregular heartbeat symbol appears on the display along with the measurement result. If the irregular heartbeats make the measurement invalid, no result is shown. In such cases, it is recommended to repeat the measurement. If the irregular heartbeat symbol continues to appear, it is advised to consult a healthcare professional.
